This is the story about Davide and Marco. They have been friends since they were 3 years old, and although they took different roads at times, they found each other again during college. Since then, they began their journey into the world of wine.
Their wines are made simply by spontaneously fermented grapes. They don’t add anything else, no clarifying agents or filtration. Residual lees and grape skins are indicators of a genuine and natural process, necessary to keep the wines alive.
Frekt is Davide and Marco’s absolutely mesmerizing take on Pecorino, one of Abruzzo’s most ancient local grapes, resulting in an orange wine that combines se juicy sincerity with subtle nuances. The naturally farmed grapes are hand-harvested at perfect maturity and see a skin contact of about 2 weeks in cement and several months of successive elevage before being bottled with no hint of added SO2.
Tastes like: Citrus driven with with apricots, honey and tangerines. On the drier side of a Pecorino with a strong crunchy acid line and medium bodied.
